You have started the process

You’ve done what you can for now. Let’s make the waiting a little more useful.

If you are waiting for an assessment result, approval details, funding, a referral or another update, you do not need another person ringing every few days to ask whether anything has changed. We can help you get ready for what comes next and agree on a sensible time to reconnect.

No chasing. No pressure. Just a useful next contact when it makes sense.

While you wait

There are a few useful things we can do without pretending we control the timeline.

The outcome itself is not ours to decide. What we can do is help you keep track of what matters, think about the support you may need and make sure the next conversation happens at a useful time rather than becoming another generic check-in.

1

Know what you are waiting for

If you know the next milestone, tell us. If you do not, explain where things seem to be up to and we can start from there.

2

Keep a simple note of what matters

What is becoming harder, what help you think may be useful, important routines, and questions you want to remember when the next update arrives.

3

Reconnect when there is something useful to discuss

If you have been given a timeframe, we can work around it. If you have not, we can agree together on a sensible next contact.

We will not keep ringing just to ask, “Have you heard anything yet?” A useful follow-up should have a reason behind it.
A calmer way to stay prepared

The next conversation can be ready before the paperwork is.

1

Tell us where things are up to

You might be waiting for an assessment result, approval details, funding, referral information or simply the next contact from My Aged Care. Ordinary language is fine.

2

Think ahead to what support may matter

You do not need certainty. A rough idea of the help you may want makes the next service conversation easier when the outcome arrives.

3

Note any important routines

Days, appointment times, family commitments, transport needs and the parts of your normal routine you want to protect can all become useful later.

4

Agree on the next sensible contact

Rather than putting you into a stream of follow-up calls, we can agree on a milestone or time that actually makes sense.

Clear about our role

We can stay useful while you wait. We cannot make the government decision happen faster.

Acclyptic does not control My Aged Care assessment, approval or funding decisions. We do not want to blur that line or promise something that is outside our control.

What we can do is listen, help you prepare, keep the future service conversation practical and reconnect when there is actually something useful to talk about.

When something changes, we can pick up from there

  • You receive an assessment result or approval.
  • You receive funding or referral information.
  • Your needs change while you are waiting.
  • You are given a date or expected milestone.
  • You simply want to talk through what the next step may look like.
Start with the basics

Tell us how to reach you. We can work out the useful follow-up together.

Your name, a way to reach you and your suburb or postcode are enough to start. You do not need to know the exact stage, date or service yet.

What happens after you send this

One of our team will talk with you about where things are up to and what you are waiting for. We can then agree on a next contact that makes sense for your situation rather than repeatedly checking in.

If you would rather talk now, please call. We want to hear from you.

If you would like, tell us a little more. All we need to start is your name, a way to reach you and your suburb. The details below simply help us understand what you are waiting for and when another conversation might actually be useful.

While you are waiting

A few common questions.

You do not need to turn waiting into another job. We can keep the next step simple.

What if I am not completely sure what I am waiting for?

That is fine. Tell us where the process seems to be up to in your own words. You do not need to know the official name of every step before you call us.

Can Acclyptic speed up an assessment, approval or funding decision?

No. Those decisions sit with My Aged Care and the relevant government processes. What we can do is help you stay organised, think ahead to the support you may need and be ready for the next practical conversation when something changes.

Will you keep calling me while I wait?

No. We would rather agree on a useful time to reconnect than call repeatedly just to ask whether you have heard anything. If you have an expected milestone, we can work around that. If you do not, we can decide together what feels sensible.

Is there anything useful I can do while I am waiting?

It can help to make a simple note of what is becoming harder at home, the support you think may help, any important routines or times, and questions you want to ask when you receive an update. It does not need to be formal.

Can I call instead of filling in the form?

Absolutely. The form is simply a quick way to send us the basics, but we are more than happy to talk with you on the phone and work through your situation in your own words. You will not get an answering machine or a “press 1 for this, 2 for that” phone maze — when you call Acclyptic, you will speak directly with a real person who can listen and help you work out the next step. No problem at all.

Has something changed?

If you now have approval or need a provider, move straight to that next step.
